Description - The UF marching band has been using an app to
eliminate printing out marching routines. The app takes latitude and longitude coordinates
and helps students with where they’re supposed to march. This is also saving
the marching band over $30000 a year.

Description – Felipe Franks played a terrible game against
Kentucky’s football team and lost to them for the first time in 31 years. His
passing game was terrible he had multiple interceptions and he ran very badly.
Last weekend he played well but that was against a very bad team. We may need
to reconsider who our starting quarterback is.

Bakery
bounces back after ex-employee shoots owner
Description – A bakery in Gainesville was unsure if business
would be effected by a recent tragedy. An ex-employee of the bakery came back
to the bakery and shot the owner in the left arm. The man was a disgruntled
former employee Morales Serrano who was angry at his
boss.
The problem – He got shot

SG may fund
Library West 24/7 by the end of September

Description – Library West is going to be open 24/7 starting
soon but what a lot of people don’t realize is that the funds allocated to
keeping library west open for this long are coming from an emergency fund. The
funds that are being used for library west are supposed to be for 1 time large
SG purchases.

UF RecSports cancels intramural
softball for the fall semester
Description – The Fall intramural softball league has been
cancelled for the first time in 24 years. It cost $12000 to do every year and
this was the main reason for the cancellation. Apparently the sport was not
attracting enough players to keep it around. It could be back next year pending
an evaluation.

Hi James. I really enjoyed reading this post. Two of your opportunities are ones that I relate to very much. The first one is the one about Library West and the 24/7 funding. Along with me being an avid library goer, I am also in Student Government and have fought tirelessly in the past to make sure this is a permanent thing. I am very happy to see that this is now coming to fruition. The other opportunity I related to was the RecSports softball one. I was very sad to hear this when the news came out. My first two years at UF I played on an intramural softball team with my friends and it was so much fun. I am sad that I will no longer have this opportunity.
