Entrepreneurial Story

When I was younger I was somewhat of an entrepreneur. When I was 12 years old I opened up my very own lemonade stand. Florida in the summer is very hot so people always want lemonade. Also being a cute little kid they are more likely to give you money. My lemonade stand was a huge success and I made over $150 which is a lot for a 12 year old. I would consider myself and entrepreneur and am definitely interested in potentially starting my own business one day.

That leads me to why I took this class, I wanted to learn about entrepreneurship and gain some valuable skills. Entrepreneurship is an important facet of business. Every business ever was started by an entrepreneur. The skills I hope to learn from this class are very transferable to the business world. As I pursue a career in finance I hope to one day be able to apply my entrepreneurial skills.

  1. James, your discussion post was awesome. I hadn't even realized that all the lemonade stands I did as a kid made me a young entrepreneur too! I actually used to do lemonade stands every weekend, and made quite the sum of money over time. We took it so seriously we even started selling other beverages and snacks. Super cool to hear someone was just like me when I was younger, sometimes entrepreneurship is just in your blood.

  2. Hi James. This post made me laugh. I remember the good old days of setting up a little lemonade stand on the corner of the street. They were some great memories that I shared with many of my fellow neighbor friends. While I don't think mine was as successful as yours, I think we still had a great time and learned some beginning entrepreneurial values while doing it. I also agree with you that I am looking to expand my horizon in the business world so that I can develop key entrepreneurial skills in order to open up more career paths.
